Station XIV

Jesus is laid in the tomb

Leader: O God, let my soul be a worthy and comforting place for you to abide in peace forever. Amen.

Leader: We adore you, O Christ and we praise you.

Response: Because by your Holy Cross, you have redeemed the world.

Leader: Joseph of Arimathea, who was also a disciple of Jesus, went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus, and Pilate ordered it to be given to him. Having taken the body down from the Cross, Joseph wrapped it in a clean linen shroud, and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out of rock. And he rolled a great stone to the door of the tomb.
